This house has a local traditional linear layout with a south facing corridor by the courtyard. This corridor was glazed with high-quality insulated glass and which is also partially shared with the living room. Additional features of the building: a pitched roof, galleries in the open attic space, a partial basement, a living courtyard enclosed by a garage and a wall by the street providing privacy for the inhabitants.

Construction:

  • Solid brick construction with a full thermal insulation on the visible portion of the galery with glue-laminated beams

Ecology, Heating:

  • Large south-facing windows (35 m², U-value 0.8 W/m²K) for passive solar energy utilization
  • 20 m² of solar collectors with a 2,300-liter storage for hot water preparation and heating support
  • Rainwater collection in a 3-chamber cistern (8 m³) for garden irrigation, toilet flushing, and washing machine use
  • Facade greenery on the south side for sun protection, especially in the summer and on the north side on the balcony
  • Trellis as a windbreak and transition to the garden area
